I was doing my assignment for my OU course on Tuesday, and I heard a *KLUNK* then my computer shut down. It restarted itself, and half way through, *KLUNK* it reastarted. There was a further 3 KLUNKs before I gave up and let it go to sleep for the day. I had another go on Wednesday, but as soon as I booted up, there was a *KLUNK* and off it went again.

I contacted the OU – Open University and asked when I would get my grant. They told me it wouldn’t be long, so I used the money they had given me so far as well as a bit of my own money to get myself a Laptop. So I am now using this with great joy.

It is an Advent 6301, dual core T2370 1.73 processors, 2 gig DDR2 memory, 120 gig hard drive, 17″ widescreen TFT screen and a DVD +/- RW, wireless LAN, Windows VISTA Home Premium, and I have set it up to communicate with my XBOX>

On the whole, I am very happy with it.

Andrew came down this weekend just passed. It was supposed to be both Andrew and Richard, but unfortunately Richard had to get an assignment finished and it was 12,000 words. I don’t think they would have allowed him to repeat the same word 12,000 times somehow. Anyway, Andrew decided to come down on Thursday this year as Talishia couldn’t get the time off work due to having gone to Bloodstock 2 weeks earlier. That way, they could have a drink on Friday evening.

Andrew arrived Thursday evening at 21:05 and, even though he has never been to this house, managed to park directly outside. Good going on that one. The Sat-Navs can be quite good when they work properly. I cooked him a meal of Sausages, chips and beans due to the extremely long journey that he had just been on. We chilled that evening as Andrew was knackered.

Friday, we didn’t do much. The kids were excited to see him, but they are every year and they miss him when it is time for him to go back.

Saturday, we went into town early as Talishia had to go to work for 2pm. Our first port of call was GameStation as this was a new shop since Andrew was down here last year. I brought a couple of games – Shadowrun and Star Trek: Legacy. Andrew brought Shadowrun and NHL 2K7. The four of these games came in the 4 for £20 on the XBOX 360. The guy who served was confused at first as to why I was buying 2 copies of the same game. (Obviously not heard of multiplayer before). Andrew also purchased NBA 2K8 and Dead or Alive 4 both for the 360 from Gamestation. We then went to Game where Andrew brought Burnout: Paradise and Viking: Battle for Asgard. Also both for the 360. Then it was to HMV where andrew brought a load of films which he was very happy with. Then it was ASDA for a spot of lunch and then back home.  When we got back to the car, we found that some pillock of a traffic warden had slapped a ticket on the car for “Incorrectly displaying the disabled badge”. For god’s sake! It’s a disabled badge. It shouldn’t matter whether it is face up or face down as long as the clock is on there and you back within the allocated time. He is going to appeal this though.

When we got home, we tried my Shadowrun game, and it was damaged, so I tried to use the Disk Repair kit on it, but that didn’t work, so we ended up cleaning and trying all of the new games. We played on the box for a bit before dinner, and after dinner I played on Andrew’s GTA IV with my brother who was at his house. I still laugh at the fact that my brother was flying the helicopter, and I decided to jump out over the city, then taking turns in throwing ourselves off of the tallest building. THAT was well funny. We decided that we were going to watch NEXT in the evening, so I went over to see a neighbour to get the film back as she had borrowed it. She asked me if Andrew had an English accent. I was confused and said “of course, he comes from Cumbria which is just South of Scotland”. Leanne said that she thought that was abroad (thoughts of Jade Goody popped into my head at that point East Angular – that’s abroord innit?) Then we settled down to watch the film, before having a quick go on one of the games.

Sunday, Talishia had to be at work early, so I cooked dinner. I also made some fruit shortbread, which was not as good as my normal one because I was an ingredient missing and had to use a different one to make up the weight. It was alright though. We played a bit on the 360 again and in the evening we watched Smoking Aces. I enjoyed the film, but Talishia said that it was not her cup of tea and didn’t like it at all.

Monday, Andrew left at about 09:45 and got back home at about 16:20 which was good going. I gave him some of the shortbread to eat on the way back. I went into Folkestone to see about getting the Shadowrun game changed, and the (pretty) girl behind the counter was annoyed at the temp for not checking the disk. She put it through their disk repair system, and it came out good as new.

There is some more news that I will be writing, but I need to talk to a couple of people about that first before I post on here.

Talishia has gone to Bloostock this weekend with Terry, which leaves me at home with the kids. I am taking them to the cinema today to see the new Star Wars film – The Clone Wars. Going to take them for a Macci-D’s afterwards. Wasn’t sure if we were actually going to go as my “accident looking to happen” son fell over last night and it took me ages to stop the blood oozing from his knee. This morning it looks a proper mess, and his mouth is a little swollen where he hit that on the ground too and chipped a tooth and cut his gum. Nowhere near as much blood as when my daughter took a chunk out of her tongue though.

My brother came over last night with his XBOX 360 for a game.  I have recently brought myself a new printer. A Canon MP220 Scanner Printer Photcopier. I got it from argos as it was on special offer at £39.99 and my printer had karked it. I have also brought myself some more books:

Right. I’m off to the cinema

This last week has been an odd week. There has been quite a bit going with nothing really achieved if you know what I mean.

Talishia quit her job. She was a domiciliary going to people’s homes and helping them out by washing them, bathing them, helping them get dressed and doing housework and things like that. She liked the job. The only problem was, was the fact that she had walk from house to house with only getting paid while she was actually in the house. She would leave at 8:00 in the morning and get home just after 13:00 with getting paid for 2 1/2 hours. So that is 5 hours and get paid for half of that. Tali did have an interview at a home which went well, and then was called back for a second interview where the woman pulled everything apart that Tali had done stating things like looking after the kids is not an excuse for not working. The original interviewer phoned her up to offer the position, but she turned it down. She said that she would not work for someone who attempted to intimidate her. She does have another interview tomorrow with a different care home.

Talishia also made a great friend from a source that she did not expect – I have been forbidden at this time to say any more than that as it could cause some legal complications at some point in the not too distant future. Suffice to say that trying to get her off of the computer now is trying to prise a nail out of the floor with a hammer made from melting jelly.

My son (Artie as I call him) was having problems at school with bullying. He has Asperger’s Syndrome and goes to a special needs school. The boy that has been giving him trouble was at his original school as well, and he gave him trouble there. As I was bullied at school, I was not going to allow the same thing happen to my son as well. So I phoned the school and had a chat with his teacher. On Friday Artie came home and told me that everything was now sorted out and that the other brat was going to be nice to him.  We will see.

I have finally purchased my own domain which I will be getting up and running very soon. It will be http://www.katt-enterprises.co.uk but at the moment it just says that the domain has been purchased. I am currently trying to sort out some kind of logo for Katt Enterprises. My mate Lou did one which was great, but it doesn’t scan well onto the computer. I tried recreating it but to no avail.

Dr Who! MY GOD! The ending of that was awesome. If you know anything about next weeks, please DON’T TELL ME! I have been having a chat with a friend of mine on MySpace and he has come up with a number of ideas:

1. Donna still has the time beetle and she may bend time back and get herself killed instead of the doctor.
2. This is all taking place in a parallel universe
3. He regenerates into himself thus becoming the 11th doctor
4. It’s not a full regeneration and he only heals himself
5. David Tennant really has regenerated and pulled off an astounding blast for the finale fooling most people

My thoughts are as follows:

1. That would be possible had it not fallen off at the end of Turn Left
2. Highly unlikely
3. That would be absurd
4. Doubtful – but with the hand there, it may cause that – a sort of save point or extra life
5. That would be out of this world. That would be one of the best kept secrets in TV history!

Role-playing tonight is quite possibly the last Star Wars that I will be running. The Sith Lord that they are up against at the moment, Darth Malas, is about to attack them (they know this as the Force Adept has seen it in the future) if he wins, they all die, if he loses – the barradium detonator attached to his heart may put some sort of damper on getting out of where they are at the moment. I am soooo looking forward to being called all the names under the sun. They have already been beaten by this guy 3 times and barely escaped each time.

I have also got my confirmation through of my next open University course that will begin in October. I am going to choose one to start in March or April too so that I can get the full amount of money that has been allocated to me.
