Christmas 2008

Christmas this year was a mixed bag. Christmas day was great. I spent the day at my sisters, with my kids, her kids and my parents. She did a great Christmas dinner, and put on a great spread in the evening. She was a brilliant and I don’t think I could have asked for a better day. What I did, was gave my kids one present each to open at home, then the rest of them had gone up to my sister’s house for them to open with the other kids.

Artie, my son, opened his Star Wars Saga Edition Chess Set at home and was extremely happy with it. I have taught him to play chess before, but I need to brush up on the rules for him as he has forgotten most of them. Star, my daughter, opened her big present which was a micro stereo system. To say he was over the moon would be an understatement. hehe. About 10.30, my parents turned up to take us all to my sister’s.

The other presents that the kids opened from me were:

Artie
A new mobile phone, a digital camera with a memory card, a Star Wars Saga Edition 2009 calendar, Goodnight Mr Tom DVD. He also got from other people: a paintable dragon, a paintable cup, a table top remote control car, chocolates of course, Star Wars book, Planes book and a few other bits

Star
Ne-Yo cd, Nickelback cd, R&B YearBook cd, Never Ending Story DVD, Orlando Bloom 2009 calendar. From other people, she also got: Hannah Montana hair braider, quacking hand puppet, paintable fairies, a bridal doll – ornament, High School Musical 2 singalong book, chocolates of course and a few other bits.

What I got from my kids was absolutely beautiful. It’s a dragon over a large ball. The ball glows different colours when the lights are turned on. I got a Pleo from my sister. hehe. It is a Pleo keyring with my name on it. She said it was something that I had said that I had wanted. LOL. The other thing of note that I got was a Slate Clock with cats on it.

Boxing day I was not overly pleased with, but this is because I did not have my kids with me. Again I spent it up at my sister’s house, but unfortunately, I was probably not very good company due to the fact that I was missing my kids. They spent Boxing Day with their mum, but they enjoyed themselves which is the most important thing.

Now what I have to look forward to is the New Year – which I have no idea what I am going to do – first time I have spent new year on my own for years, and then a trip to Leicester in January.

Happy New Year to you all.
